Event Description and Key Objectives

Bled multimedia project launch 2023 presented a short film and announced the launch of The Bled Podcast and the upcoming book Bledology, written by Noah Charney. Bled Tourist Board urges visitors to respect and care for preserving the green and sustainable image of Bled with the entire hinterland and area of the Julian Alps. Thus, new multimedia content encourages visitors to stay in Bled longer than just visiting, explore the natural and cultural heritage, and experience unique, unforgettable moments here that will make them want to return. Through them, they are invited to join the green story of Bled and step into the living room, as we like to call the area of the broader area of the Julian Alps. This way, the visitors will contribute to the improved atmosphere due to the dispersed visits and interaction with the locals. The romantic and green experience of Bled is presented in a new short film, a result of a collaborative effort to showcase the beauty of this place. The unusual local and inspiring stories of Bled and its surroundings are presented through the podcast "Bled - is it the most beautiful place in the world?", a platform that brings together diverse voices to tell the story of Bled. The publication of the Bledology book, a collection of these unique stories, was also announced at the event. The contents were created in cooperation with an American who has been living in Slovenia for many years, Dr. Noah Charney.

Key challenges

We wanted the event to highlight all the beauty Bled holds and present it to invited guests. The critical challenge was including the sustainability note and convincing the attendees that Bled has much more to offer than the renowned triplets, castle, island, and cream cake.

Communication

Through its promotional activities, the Bled Tourist Board strives to realize Bled's strategy of being a sustainable tourist destination. With constant activities and small but decisive steps towards the goal, it addresses guests through all existing channels in response to the increasingly complex and dynamic expectations of both guests and the local population. The main messages we want to convey to visitors are respect for the exceptional natural and cultural heritage of Bled, its wider surroundings, and the local population. Such communication recognizes Bled as the heart for discovering the entire area of the Julian Alps and urges guests to experience Bled in its fullness, offering a unique and comprehensive view of the region, and recognize it as a destination in a region that offers a perfect active and romantic holiday.

Sustainable practices

The dress code was in Wes Anderson's style, which is famous for pastel colours, retro costumes, and a surrealist approach that combines filmmaking with tableau-vivant aesthetics and perfectionist living images. The catering was prepared with products from the Bled local selection collective brand.
